This golden lager is a very good example of the innovative approach to brewing, that ruled in the brewery as soon as 1984. The local wild growing plant Sweet Gale/Pors has been used in beer brewing from the middle ages, but it disappeared when the hops became the beer spice. It has a warm sweet aroma and a very modest bitterness. In this beer Pors replaces 2/3 of the hops in the recipe, and gives a smoother golden lager beer.
Each year in August, people from and in- and outside Denmark gather in Thy to collect the Pors leaves for the next years brewing.
